Admissions Requirements

• completion of Core IMPACTS
• completion of ENGL 1101 (or ENGL 1101H) and ENGL 1102 (or ENGL 1102H), each with a grade of “C” or better
• completion of ASL 1001, ASL 1002, ASL 2001, and ASL 2002 with a grade of “C” or better – Note: A “B” or better is required in ASL 1002 and ASL 2001 to advance to the next course in the sequence
• completion of program orientation
• successful completion of entrance interview: candidates will demonstrate proficiency in sign recall and visual-motor integration, and demonstrate at least intermediate conversational proficiency in American Sign Language
• completion of major application

This degree requires the following:

Core IMPACTS (42-43 hours) in addition to preparation for the major (18 hours), major area (48 hours) and electives (12 hours).

Some of the courses include Deaf History and Culture, Linguistics of Sign Language and Introduction to Interpreting.

Total program: Minimum of 120 semester hours.
