- Biography
Tim Newman is a clinical assistant professor in the College of Education & Human Development’s Department of Kinesiology and Health. His research focuses on how businesses can create, implement and analyze social media plans effectively; organizing, managing and promoting sporting events; and creating, implementing and analyzing online programs for maximum learning and student engagement.
He has led seminars and training programs for the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation, the United States Sports Academy in Africa/Malaysia/Thailand and several local area school districts. Newman authored “Social Media in Sport Marketing,” contributed a chapter to “The Management of Sport: Its Foundation and Application” and has presented his research at national and international conferences for several organizations, including the Global Sport Business Association, the North American Society of Sport Management, the Hawaii International Conference on Education, the International Conference of Sports, the Sport Marketing Association and the American Alliance of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
