- Biography
Laura Abbott earned her undergraduate degree in exercise science and her master’s degree in sports medicine from Georgia State University in 1987 and 1988, respectively. She interned at Emory University Cardiac Rehabilitation and in the Georgia Institute of Technology Athletic Department. Abbott also worked with Federal Occupational Health, training and educating federal law enforcement officers and traveling around the country presenting continuing education programs for many years.
Abbott has been quoted in Ladies Home Journal magazine, served as a featured speaker for the Speaking of Women’s Health Expo for two consecutive years and presented at the National American College of Sports Medicine conference. She has owned and operated Premier Performance, Inc., which specializes in exercise and massage rehabilitative therapies and continuing education programs, since 1991. She is also the author of the National Exam Prep Workbook for massage therapists (McGraw-Hill publishers, 2005).
