- Biography
LaCretia Plane joined the CREATE project in 2021 as a program manager and transitioned to Georgia State in July 2022 as director of sustainability and operations. Plane holds a B.S. degree in business management, a master’s in business administration, and a graduate certificate in mentoring and leadership from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in educational leadership with an emphasis in higher education administration.
Place is an experienced leader with over ten years of knowledge and experience working in the higher education industry. She brings to this project an inexhaustible amount of knowledge in grant administration, program management and financial management. She has upheld a specific position in which she assisted in capital budgets and the major building project of the new football stadium and student center on the campus of Alabama State University. At her previous position, she has developed and implemented many procedures for programs in Biomedical research, OB/Gyn fellowships, and graduate nursing scholars at UAB.
When she has free time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, family and friends. She enjoys reading, traveling and planning and decorating events. She is also involved with the community and is a member of several organizations that deal with community involvement, mentorship and service.
