Kathryn Wilson
Assistant Professor Kinesiology and Health- Biography
- Kathryn Wilson is interested in improving population health through physical activity promotion. She received her Ph.D. in exercise psychology from the University of Georgia and completed her postdoctoral training in implementation science at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Her research uses an integrative, meta-theoretical approach to understanding how personality impacts the success of evidence-based methods to behavioral health promotion. Her current work is focused on describing the moderating effects of fundamental traits on the cognitive and affective determinants of physical activity. Her long-term goal is to adapt the content and delivery of current evidence-based interventions to maximize reach and effectiveness of physical activity promotion efforts by leveraging individual differences. She is especially interested in the delivery of web-based interventions through research/practice partnerships, and is always seeking new partners for interdisciplinary translational research.
