Janie Copple is an assistant professor in Research, Measurement and Statistics in the Department of Educational Policy Studies. She earned her Ph.D. in Qualitative Research and Evaluation Methodologies in 2022 from the University of Georgia. Before doctoral studies, she enjoyed a fifteen-year career as a middle grades social studies and English/language arts teacher and secondary curriculum coordinator.
Copple’s research explores qualitative research methodologies, specifically critical feminist materialist and posthuman approaches to narrative, autoethnographic and arts-based research, and topics on motherhood and puberty education. Her teaching interests focus on helping students design theoretically informed educational qualitative studies.
In her spare time, Copple enjoys traveling with her family and distance running.
