Biography

Gwendolyn Ann Kearney (Gwen) is an administrative specialist in the Department of Middle and Secondary Education (MSE). She joined Georgia State University in September of 2013. As an administrative specialist, Kearney focuses on financial and business affairs. She is responsible for the post award management of MSE grants. She also coordinates MSE faculty searches, hires, student awards and faculty evaluations.

Kearney has over 20 years of administrative experience. She has attended courses at New York University and at Georgia State University’s Perimeter Campus. She plans to continue studies towards her bachelor’s degree in business with a specialization in finance in the spring of 2018.

Prior to coming to GSU, Kearney held several administrative positions where she honed her skills in finance, human resources and recruitment. Kearney loves GSU because she is always learning. Recently, she has been learning the intricacies of grants management and has attended the Business Managers Certificate Training classes.

Kearney loves reading, watching old black and white movies, swimming and spending time with family and friends. She is into fitness and has recently completed the Health Trails 2017 6-week challenge of 670.08 virtual miles. She plans on completing many more challenges in the years to come.
