Don DavisAssociate Professor - Principal Investigator for the Happi Lab Counseling and Psychological Services
The research program Don Davis works with generally falls under the umbrella of positive psychology. The lab, called Humility and the Advancement of Positive Psychology Interventions (HAPPI), generally studies the virtues humility, forgiveness and gratitude. The lab does both basic and applied research. He also does work on spirituality as an aspect of diversity.
Davis and his colleagues received a $6 million grant from the John Templeton Foundation to better understand intellectual humility. The project involves distributing $3.5 million to support projects focused on two questions: 1.) What are the psychological processes that are responsible for developing intellectual humility? and 2.) What contexts are intellectual humility interventions most beneficial?
