- Biography
Allison Smith is a former Division I and II softball student athlete who is now an assistant professor of sport administration with the Department Kinesiology and Health. She received her B.A. in Communication and her M.A. of Arts in Sport Administration from Wingate University. She received her M.S. in Sport Psychology and Motor Behavior as well as her Ph.D. in Kinesiology and Sport Studies from the University of Tennessee. She studies and writes about the current state of women in sport and the holistic development of collegiate athletes.
Smith has taught a multitude of sport management and marketing courses for over ten years at various undergraduate and graduate programs, but at Georgia State will be teaching organizational behavior, sport communication and sport leadership. Before joining the college, Smith worked previously at University of Massachusetts-Boston, University of New Mexico and completed a postdoctorate fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University with the Center for Sport Leadership.
