We offer the following graduate degrees in the fields of education – M.A.T., M.Ed., Ed.D., Ph.D. and a variety of graduate endorsements and certificates.
By the Numbers
We prepare educators…
…to teach English, mathematics, science and social studies to middle and secondary school students and
to teach reading, English as a Second Language and foreign languages to Preschool to 12th-grade learners.
What We Offer
Middle and Secondary Education (MSE) prepares educators and other professionals in career and technical education, English education, English as a second language education, learning technologies, mathematics education, middle childhood education, reading education, science education and social studies education.
We offer over 28 programs (B.S.E., M.A.T., M.Ed., M.S. and Ph.D.); several certification-only programs; and endorsement programs. These programs are offered in face-to-face and online formats. Our acclaimed faculty, among the leading researchers and teachers in their fields, come from many countries around the world and are committed to bettering the human condition.
Our mission is to engage in research, teaching and service in urban environments with people from multiple cultural, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds. We work collaboratively with people in schools, communities and organizations in metropolitan Atlanta and around the world. We are committed to innovation and creativity and to pushing the boundaries of knowledge and practice.
We strive to realize our vision of pluralism, equity and social justice where individuals have equal access to meaningful learning opportunities throughout their lives and the chance to apply their knowledge and skills for the greater good.
