What You'll Learn
Project BEES scholars will learn to address the academic, behavioral and communication needs of young children with significant support needs and will receive mentoring and professional development opportunities.

- Applied Behavior Analysis M.S.
- Special Education Adapted Curriculum, Initial Certification (select the early childhood concentration when applying to the M.A.T. adapted curriculum program).

What does BEES stand for?

Can you tell me more about what I need to do to be considered for Project BEES?
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Project BEES scholar at Georgia State University! We are excited to hear from you.
Scholars are invited to apply for one of three degree programs:
Masters of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis
Students in this track will receive a masters of science in applied behavior analysis and complete a behavior analysis certification board approved course sequence in a four semester degree. Students completing this degree track do not need special education licensure, but will receive a preschool endorsement.

Masters of Arts in Teaching in Special Education, Adapted Curriculum
Students on an adapted curriculum often have a diagnosed intellectual disability, and learn academic skills and functional life skills tailored to their individual needs. In Georgia schools, students on an adapted curriculum receive most of their academic instruction in small-group settings. This concentration focuses on effective instruction for students on an adapted curriculum from preschool to 12th grade.
What are my next steps?
Interested scholars should apply first to the degree program they are interested in. The deadline for the M.S. in ABA program is February 1 and the M.A.T. in ECSE is March 1. Applicants to all programs are encouraged to apply as early as possible.

Will I be admitted as a Project BEES scholar?
Competitive applicants for the grant funded project will have a undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher. Interested applicants will be selected from the submitted applications for either program, so you may be admitted to Georgia State but not funded under this project. The five most competitive students from each degree program will be funded per year, and notification of funding will come after notice of admission.
