Georgia Educator Ethics Assessment and GACE Content Assessments for Teaching, Service and Educational Leadership (Tier I) Fields
This information about the Georgia Educator Ethics Assessment is for candidates seeking admission to or enrolled in a teacher preparation or educational leadership program.
The state of Georgia requires that teacher preparation candidates take the Educator Ethics assessment and educational leadership preparation candidates take the Educator Ethics for Educational Leadership assessment as part of the educator certification process. These computer-delivered assessments have been developed by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) and are delivered by the Education Testing Service (ETS). Candidates will take the Georgia Educator Ethics Assessment OR Georgia Educator Ethics for Educational Leadership for admission. The GACE Content assessment(s) will be taken after enrollment and prior to program completion.
Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (GACE): GACE Content Assessments
This assessment helps the GaPSC ensure candidates have the knowledge and skills needed to perform the job of an educator in Georgia’s public schools.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The testing supplier for the GACE program is changing from Educational Testing Service (ETS) to Evaluation Systems of Pearson (ES).
Because scores from tests offered by different test suppliers are not comparable, examinees must pass all parts of an assessment with the same testing supplier for that assessment to count toward certification. Passing scores on tests within an assessment cannot be split between the two suppliers.
June 12, 2025, is the last date to register with ETS to take a GACE Content Assessment with ETS for teaching, service, and Educational Leadership (Tier I) fields and the paraprofessional assessment.
It is critically important to note examinees must pass all parts of an assessment with the same testing supplier for that assessment to count toward certification. Since scores from two testing suppliers are not comparable, passing scores on tests within an assessment cannot be split between the two suppliers.
