NEW PRINCIPALS CELEBRATION
Joe Richardson Award for Exemplary Leadership
This award is named in honor of the founder of the Principals Center at Georgia State University, Joe Richardson. The award is given annually by the Principals Center at a prestigious celebration usually held at the Carter Center in Atlanta to a principal who most represents the mix of leadership attributes that provides for a school environment where both students and staff excel. The recipients exemplify the characteristics of an instructional leader within a community of learners and leaders.

Annual New Principals Celebration
The New Principals Celebration is an annual ceremony to honor first-year principals across the state of Georgia. New principals are invited to attend the celebration at The Carter Center with the guest of their choice. The celebration features the Joe Richardson Award for Exemplary Leadership in which a principal is chosen as recipient. The principal recipients of this prestigious award are educational leaders who are highly competent and successful within the school district and among his/her professional peers.
