Message from Our Chair
Caitlin Dooley
Welcome to the Early Childhood and Elementary Education Department at Georgia State University. As an interdisciplinary unit of the College of Education & Human Development, we prepare and develop educators who work with children from birth through the elementary ages and their families.
We provide learning opportunities for educators in and out of the classroom, ensuring that cutting-edge research, the latest technologies and innovative teaching inform our programs. Our faculty is dedicated to serving children and families from all backgrounds, abilities, genders, races and ethnicities.
The department houses eight academic programs and is home to Pathways to Literacy, Best Practices, and the Child Development Program.
