This endorsement is intended for teachers who hold a clear, renewable certificate, level 4 or higher in early childhood education (P-5) or another eligible field specified in PSC Educator Preparation Rules and are interested in adding additional expertise in science education to their certificate. SEED = Supporting Early Educator’s Development. The project provides an innovative, fully funded teacher preparation experience for professionals interested in earning a degree in Birth-Five. Must be eligible for the DECAL Scholars Academic Tuition Assistance Program.

Rhina Fernandes Williams and Katie Kurumada, faculty members in the in the Department of Early Childhood and Elementary Education, are two of eight recipients of the College of Education & Human Development’s Faculty Awards for 2022.
Social Justice-Focused Summer Institute for Atlanta Educators Teaches Local History, Community Organizing
This summer, students in the college’s CREATE teacher residency program participated in the Ella Baker-Lugenia Hope-Septima Clark Summer Institute, named after three important yet often overlooked black women who organized and advocated for social change in Atlanta and throughout the South.
Zoe Thornton is the 2021 recipient of the Outstanding Undergraduate in Elementary and Special Education Award, given in recognition of outstanding leadership and service to the educational community in the bachelor of science in education program in elementary education with a concentration in special education.
