Dr. Caroline Simpkins, who earned her Ph.D. in 2024 and currently serves as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, secured first place in Georgia State University’s 2024 Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition. On Jan. 14, she represented the university at the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia meeting.
Simpkins was among four distinguished doctoral students and alumni from various institutions at the meeting. She delivered a compelling presentation of her research titled “Neurobiomechanical Mechanisms of Ballet Preventing Falls in Older Adults,” adhering to the concise 3MT format.
She completed her doctoral studies in Kinesiology within the College of Education & Human Development, under the guidance of Dr. Feng Yang.
The 3MT competition challenges graduate students to effectively communicate their research to a non-specialist audience in just three minutes, enhancing their presentation and communication skills.
We are incredibly proud of Simpkins’s achievements and exemplary representation of Georgia State University.
