The College of Education & Human Development’s Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) has begun a fundraising campaign to raise $5,000 across its existing scholarships and begin conversations to establish at least one endowed fund – the first of its kind in CSD.
“The need for speech-language pathologists is expected to grow 19.3 percent in the next decade, and supporting training programs in communication sciences and disorders is critical for meeting this need,” said Department Chair Jacqueline Laures-Gore. “With our existing scholarships, we can support students with a small award each year. Financial aid is critical for many of our students and with help from donors, we would like to provide them with additional resources.”
CSD has the following scholarships in place:
- The Communication Sciences and Disorders Scholarship (Fund ID: 021516) is available to any student within the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders and is not limited to any program or degree level.
- The Communication Sciences and Disorders Graduate Scholarship (Fund ID: 02D98) is available to graduate students within any program in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders.
- The Communication Sciences and Disorders Department Fund (Fund ID: 021274) is designed to support the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders’ most urgent needs and highest priorities. At the discretion of the department chair, allocations can be made from this fund to support students, program and research needs, or other priorities that help to advance the department’s research, reach and impact.
