Department of Learning Sciences Associate Professor Lauren Margulieux gave the keynote address at the 16th International Conference on Informatics in Schools. The event was held in Lausanne, Switzerland on Oct 23.
This annual conference brings together researchers and practitioners in K-12 computer science and informatics education.
Margulieux’s keynote was entitled, “Computing Across the Curriculum: CS Knowledge and Skills that Everyone Values.” In her talk, she discussed the integration of computing in education across various subjects, not just computer science. She also offered insights into teacher preparation, effective strategies to foster teacher engagement, and aligning these computing activities with current educational practices.
