Department of Learning Sciences Associate Professor Lauren Margulieux received the International Computing Education Research (ICER) Test of Time Award at the annual ICER Conference in Chicago, Ill.
This award recognizes an outstanding paper published in the ICER community that has had a meaningful impact on computing education practice and research.
Margulieux’s award-winning paper is entitled, “Subgoal-Labeled Instructional Material Improves Performance and Transfer in Learning to Develop Mobile Applications.” It was the first application in computer science education of subgoal labels, an instructional design framework for helping students understand problem-solving procedures.
