M.S. Communication Sciences and Disorders, 2021
I currently work across different facilities and settings at Piedmont Eastside Medical Center, Piedmont Rockdale Hospital and Life Care Centers of America. I evaluate, treat, diagnose and create individualized treatment plans for my adult/geriatric patients. I mainly treat the following disorders: dysphagia, aphasia, dysarthria, cognition and voice.
Since graduating with my master’s, I have successfully completed my clinical fellowship year within nine months. Additionally, I have trained/oriented incoming staff members, floated between acute care/inpatient acute rehabilitation/behavioral health settings, implemented protocols and procedures to enhance the speech therapy department, provide training to RNs regarding the role of SLPs, manage an entire caseload and train staff members on EMR systems. I have became proficient in completing modified barium swallow studies independently, as well as became FEES certified.
