CSD faculty and students volunteered over Labor Day weekend at a unique camp for children who use augmentative or alternative communication (AAC). The four-day camp was held at Camp Twin Lakes in Rutledge Ga.
Prior to the camp, student volunteers received extensive training in AAC. CSD students from Georgia State and the University of Georgia, along with licensed SLPs, worked collaboratively with campers and their families to provide an amazing camp experience to enhance the campers’ communication skills. It was a rewarding and fun weekend!
