Associate Professor Lauren Margulieux participated in a three-day working group meeting entitled, “Models for Computer Science Teacher Preparation: Lessons from the Globe,” as part of the Innovation and Technology in Computer Science Education Conference in Dublin, Ireland, this summer.
The working group was comprised of researchers from six countries – Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain and the U.S. – and focused their discussions on various models of computer science (CS) teacher preparation, challenges and recommendations for improving CS teacher preparation globally. The group was led by Aman Yadav from Michigan State University; Cornelia Connolly from the National University of Ireland, Galway; and Marc Berges from Friedrich Alexander University in Bavaria, Germany.
