Samantha Wright is a first-year masters student in the School Counseling program. She is currently in a practicum at an elementary school in Gwinnett County and will later complete her internship in a high school. Her long-term career goals include doctoral study in counseling psychology and supervision training either in a counseling center or in a high school.
“I had the pleasure of taking Dr. Shannonhouse’s class, and I am so excited for her to guide this research team,” she said.
Wright’s research interests include multicultural counseling, childhood trauma, family and relationship dynamics, and overall wellness.
“I am most excited about having the opportunity to work, learn and grow as a part of a research team! I hope we are able to make a difference in suicide prevention and intervention and promote life with older adults,” she said about joining the H.O.P.E. Lab.
