Continuing education credit for this event was sponsored by The Institute for Continuing Education. The program offered 6.00 contact hours, with full attendance required. The processing fee is $25.00 per person and may be paid with the registration fee or on-site. Application forms for CE credit will be available on site. Verification of continuing education credit is mailed to applicants following the event. To receive CE credit, attendees must have completed CE paperwork, sign in-out, and complete and evaluation of the program. Marriage/Family Therapy: The Institute for Continuing Education is an approved provider by the Florida Board of Health, Division of Counseling, Marriage/Family Therapy, Social Work, Provider BAP 255.
Social Work: The Institute for Continuing Education Provider 1007, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards ( ASWB ), www.aswb.org, through the Approved Continuing Education ( ACE ) program. The Institute for Continuing Education maintains responsibility for the program. ASWB Approval Period: 04-13-2015 – 04-13-2018. Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval for continuing education credits.
Nursing: The Institute for Continuing Education is an approved provider of continuing education in nursing by the California Board of Nursing, Provider CEP 12646. Nurses should contact their state board to determine if credit issued through an approved provider of the CA Board of Nursing is acceptable for credit by their board.
Play Therapy: The Institute for Continuing Education is approved by the Association for Play Therapy to offer continuing education specific to play therapy. APT Approved Provider 98-040. Play Therapy credit will not be awarded to non-mental health professionals.

Description of Training
- Explore adult attitudes and responses to the grieving child.
- Identify play therapy based assessment techniques useful with the grieving child.
- Learn how the play therapist’s personal experience with loss can affect the play
- Identify play therapy techniques, games, plays, books, and other materials that can
be useful when working with the grieving child.
- Describe typical and atypical children’s responses to loss at different developmental
- Explain why a play therapy approach offers a viable intervention for children
