Virtual Private Network (VPN)

A VPN connection encrypts and tunnels the data being transferred over the Internet to a VPN server on a workplace network. Without a VPN connection, data that is sent over the Internet might not be protected from snooping.

The Cisco VPN is the software used at Georgia State University to secure network connections from home computers or laptops over the campus network.

To get the latest GSU VPN for your laptop or home computer please visit the following link:

Temporary GSU Wireless Access Accounts Minimize

If you require wireless access for your participants and they are not GSU Staff, Faculty or Students you will need to request a guest account through GSU IS&T.  Please go to the following link fill it out well in advance of your event so that the ids can be created.  NOTE:  It is always a good idea when requesting the guest ids to fill out the “event date” as “the day before” the actual event date.  That way you can test one of the ids a day ahead to make sure it works.
