Hayden-Waltz Doctoral Dissertation Award

Established by College of Education & Human Development alumni Dr. Melvin Hayden and Dr. Lucy Welzant Hayden to honor their parents, Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Waldo Hayden, Sr. and Mr. & Mrs. Edwin Millart Waltz. This $1,000 award is presented to a doctoral student or graduate whose dissertation exhibits originality, clarity and effectiveness in the presentation of ideas, quality writing and contributes to the future scholarly productivity of his or her field.
