Chet W. Harris Scholarship
Presented to doctoral students in recognition of teaching, mentoring and modeling with care and compassion. The recipient will receive an $800 scholarship.
JoAnna F. White Play Therapy Scholarship
Presented to a graduate student in good standing in the Department of Counseling and Psychological Services who is dedicated to the study and clinical practice of play therapy. The recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
Karen Lopp Memorial Scholarship
In recognition of a commitment to multicultural issues and social injustice through advocacy and service. The recipient will receive a $500 scholarship.
Kenneth and Mary Matheny Scholarship
In recognition of outstanding accomplishments in counseling and psychological services. The recipients received $3,500 and $4,500 scholarships, respectively.
Outstanding Doctoral Student Award
Presented to a doctoral student in recognition of academic performance, service to the department and professional promise.
Christen Peeper McDonald
Outstanding Mental Health Counseling Student Award
Presented to master’s students in the Mental Health Counseling program in recognition of leadership, service, advocacy, scholarship and mentorship.
Outstanding Rehabilitation Counseling Student Award
Presented to a master’s student in the Rehabilitation Counseling program in recognition of a strong commitment to the profession and advocating for people with disabilities.
Outstanding School Counseling Student Award
Presented to a master’s student in the School Counseling program in recognition of initiative, leadership, advocacy and service to the school counseling profession and program.
Outstanding School Psychology Student Award
Presented to a master’s student in the School Psychology program in recognition of initiative, leadership, advocacy and service to the school psychology profession and program.
Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation
Presented to doctoral students in recognition of outstanding scholarship.
Dissertation Title: The Effectiveness of Child-Centered Play Therapy on the Challenging Behaviors of Early Elementary School Students
