Highlights of Training

SCEIs Training Content
Training modules provide personnel with the skills and knowledge to provide appropriate services to young children with disabilities and their families. These modules were developed from competencies adopted by Babies Can't Wait which specify what early interventionists should know and be able to doapply

Modules are presented in two levels:

  1. Level I is designed for those who do not hold a college degree in an early intervention related discipline.
  2. Level II addresses the needs of professionals who have college degrees in an early intervention discipline.

Training content addresses:

  • Family Systems (Level I only)
  • Professional Development (Level I & II)
  • Program Implementation (Level I & II)
  • Assessment and Evaluation (Level I & II)
  • Typical and Atypical Development (Level I & II)
  • Administrative and Team Processes(Level I only)
  • Family Systems and Team Processes (Level II only)
  1. Multidisciplinary groups, including professionals, paraprofessionals, and family members
  2. Trainers from varied disciplines and parent trainers of a child with disabilities whose child was in BCW
  3. Competency based skills and knowledge  for levels I and II professionals
  4. Individualized Learning supported with follow-up activities
  5. Self Assessment of learning
  6. Curriculum which is family centered and culturally sensitive. Bright From the Start (BFTS)/State accepted childcare training & CEUs available
  7. Online options available
  8. Locations throughout Georgia
