Mission
The mission of the Georgia Early Intervention Higher Education Consortium (HEC) is to promote best practice systems change within college and university programs as well as support faculty members through developing and sharing strategies for collaboration in research and course design/infusion that incorporates appropriate family-centered early intervention content and interdisciplinary interests.
Goals
The mission of the Georgia Early Intervention Higher Education Consortium is supported by the following goals related to early intervention for infants and toddlers with disabilities and their families:
- The Georgia Early Intervention Higher Education Consortium will work to expand college, university, and technical institute faculty's understanding of and collaboration in research and early intervention services across professional disciplines
- The Georgia Early Intervention Higher Education Consortium will share information about issues in preservice and inservice personnel preparation and work to expand college, university, and technical institute faculty's understanding of the nature of interdisciplinary techniques and methodology currently used in personnel preparation.
- Membership in Georgia's HEC is open to those individuals who are faculty at a Georgia technical school, college, or university in one of the early intervention disciplines.
