Learn the basics of producing media programs as well as acting techniques for on camera presentations.  This is an important combination for good moviemaking.  From ideas to scripts to recording you will be introduced to the production process. I will bring in an APPLE laptop to show you how the edit process works.  Your projects will be edited by my students with your direction. There will be a “Media Showcase” of your work on the last day. If someone has taken this class before and they signed up again there will be opportunities to build on media skills by leading other groups and working on independent projects. Claymation, short for Clay Animation, is a popular 20th century form of stop- motion animation used to create characters such as Gumby and Wallace and Gromit.  In small collaborative groups, students will command scriptwriting, storyboarding, set design and construction, clay character creation, filming, and final editing.  Students will take home their very own DVD copy of the movie that they created! This class will address different ways to communicate to others for a productive life and happy lifestyle. It will address self-esteem and how to improve the way we see ourselves in every day real life situations. We will accomplish this through art, verbal discussions and role playing. Also we will include building blocks such as assertive training for choosing friends and healthy relationships that are rewarding and positive for our children. There are ways to say what you want clearly, confidently and effectively. There are also ways to ask for what you want and, if your confidence is high and your leadership abilities and tactics are great, you just may get it through the speaking art of persuasion—another form of public speaking that will be covered in SPEAK FOR YOURSELF.  Come master the art of public speaking! Youth Business Club is a program that teaches children about business. They will learn about the real world of business: How to brainstorm for business ideas, marketing, business plans, ethics, budgeting and much more. Each child will leave with a great business idea, business cards, one page business plan and a business name.
