Professional Development Wednesdays
The Professional Development Wednesdays Speaker Series is designed to provide a platform for exploration of current trends and research in education today. The program also provides an opportunity for the mentoring of doctoral students in an effort to enhance their development as academics. While the series offers College of Education faculty members an opportunity to hear innovative and thought-provoking speakers, it also fills an important professional development need by providing access to experts at Georgia State University as well as at the state and national levels.
The series offers four different types of presentations each Wednesday during the academic year:
- A Research Wednesdays presentation, an existing College of Education & Human Development series that brings cutting-edge researchers at the state and national levels to the college;
- An Office of Research and Sponsored Projects presentation, which gives attendees information about the grant funding process and how to establish partnerships with local schools;
- A Learning Technologies Division presentation, which highlights trends in instructional technology and tips for using technology in the classroom; and
- An Educator Preparation presentation, which provides faculty an open forum to discuss topics affecting educator preparation programs.
