Biography

Zahra Safaeepour received her academic education in biomedical engineering, prosthetics and orthotics.  Her research interests lie in the area of biomechanics of human motion and gait analysis; specifically, how different prostheses (artificial limbs) and orthoses (assistive devices) impact movement in children and adults with disorders.

Safaeepour joined Dr. Mark Geil’s research team at The Center for Pediatric Locomotion Sciences, located at Georgia State University, in March of 2015, as a postdoctoral research associate. Her ongoing research is to perform computerized gait analysis on pediatrics. Her current effort is to study prosthetic knee use in children with limb loss.
