Dennis Murphy Odo joined the Georgia State University faculty in 2012. He currently teaches courses in reading assessment and applied linguistics for teachers. Prior to joining the department of Middle Secondary Education, Murphy Odo taught English as a second and foreign language at Kyunghee University in Seoul, Korea and served as a pre-service teacher trainer at The University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. His teaching interests are in the areas of second language literacy instructional methods and classroom assessment. He has written and published research on the topics of second language literacy, second language assessment and immigrant student achievement.
