O’Rourke is an audiologist in the Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) Program. She teaches the audiology and audiologic rehabilitation classes for both undergraduate and graduate students. She also supervises students in the Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic as they work with her providing hearing screenings and evaluations. O’Rourke has taught at Georgia State since 1989 after working in the hearing aid industry and teaching in other university CSD Programs. She has been active in the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the Georgia Speech-Language-Hearing Association serving on numerous boards and committees.
