Initial Certification or Adding a New Field to a Certificate (Including Endorsements)
If you are employed by a Georgia public or private school system:
You must complete the following forms:
Georgia PSC Certification Application
Approved Program Recommendation Form
Employer Assurance Form
Submit the Approved Program Recommendation Form to the Office of Academic Assistance in the College of Education. The University certification official verifies that you have completed all requirements for certification, and will sign the form. Please indicate if you would like your verified form mailed to you (provide your mailing address) or if you would like to pick up your verified form (provide phone number or email address for notification).
Attach a copy of your passing GACE results or exemption scores (if applicable) to your recommendation form. The current options for satisfying the Basic Skills Assessment, including the exemptions, are outlined here. Under "Basic Skills Testing," scroll to "Options to Satisfy the Basic Skills Requirement."
Finally, submit your verified Approved Program Recommendation Form with your Georgia PSC Certification Application and Employer Assurance Form to your system office.

After submitting and verifying your Approved Program Recommendation Form with the Office of Academic Assistance in the College of Education as described above, submit your Georgia PSC Certification Application and the verified Approved Program Recommendation Form directly to the Georgia PSC. Include a transcript verifying your degree or completion of coursework with your packet. Contact Georgia State University for your official transcript (click here to request a transcript).
