Educator Preparation Students
The easiest and least expensive way to purchase tort liability insurance is to become a student member of one of the educator associations in Georgia. A one year membership costs just $7. One of the membership benefits is $1 million worth of liability coverage to protect you anytime you are involved with work with schoolchildren, either student teaching or observing a classroom.
Memberships are available online. When you join, print your confirmation and show proof of coverage to your program coordinator or supervisor prior to field placement.

Counseling Students
Students enrolled in one of the COE’s counseling programs should consider a student membership in one of the counseling associations listed below. A student membership in either includes $1 million in professional liability coverage at no additional cost for student members enrolled and engaged in a master’s degree counseling curriculum at a post secondary institution.
