Graduation Requirements

Eligible students may contact the Graduation Services Office to apply for graduation. No graduation will be approved without prior registration.

Beginning fall semester, 2006 every graduate candidate for a degree MUST be registered during the semester of completion of all graduation requirements, including general examinations, dissertation/thesis defense, portfolio, or internship. Departments may determine the extent and type of hours that must be taken by the candidate during the concluding semester.  Activation regulations are explained in the general university-wide section of the Graduate Catalog. The semester of completion is defined as extending until the last day before conferring of degrees on the academic calendar as published by Enrollment Services.

Clearance for graduation must come both from the College of Education's Office of Academic Assistance and Graduate Admissions (OAA) and the Graduation Services Office. OAA informs candidates for graduation of their program status. Candidates are encouraged to generate a self evaluation on PAWS frequently, and the office will send one official audit to the student. Any required forms for waivers or exceptions to a program of study should be filed at least one semester prior to the semester of completion. These forms are available here.
