The Professional Development Wednesdays Speaker Series is designed to provide a platform for exploration of current trends and research in education today. The program also provides an opportunity for the mentoring of doctoral students in an effort to enhance their development as academics. While the series offers College of Education faculty members an opportunity to hear innovative and thought-provoking speakers, it also fills an important professional development need by providing access to experts at Georgia State University as well as at the state and national levels.
The speaker series offers four different types of presentations:
The speaker series is coordinated by Susan Ogletree, director of the college’s Educational Research Bureau, in collaboration with Joyce Many, associate dean of undergraduate studies and educator preparation; Steve Harmon, chair of the Learning Technologies Division; and with input from College of Education Interim Dean Paul Alberto and chairs of the College of Education’s six departments.
Professional Development Wednesdays are held at 12 noon (unless otherwise noted) in the College of Education Forum, room 1030. Select presentations will be available for download at iTunes U.
Please note: Lunch will be provided at Research Wednesdays presentations only. To confirm your attendance, please contact Erin Whitney in the COE’s Educational Research Bureau at (404) 413-8090 or email@example.com.
