Master of Education (M.Ed.)
The M.Ed major in Middle Childhood Education is designed to provide learning experiences for teachers who have been initially prepared in middle childhood education. Programs include coursework in middle childhood education and in an area of advanced study from one of the following options: language arts, mathematics, reading, science, or social studies. Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.)
The M.A.T. major in Middle Childhood Education Alternative Preparation Program provides initial teacher preparation for individuals holding bachelor’s degrees and who have an interest in teaching students in grades 4-8 in two areas of a concentration. The course of study meets the requirements for professional certification in Middle Childhood Education (grades 4-8) with concentrations in either language arts and social studies education or mathematics and science education.
