Master of Education (M.Ed.)

This program is designed for the teacher who wishes to establish a learner-centered classroom. M.Ed. Application Requirements

Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.)

The program for the major in initial early childhood teacher education prepares teachers of young children (birth to 10 years) in an urban environment. The program is designed for people who already hold a baccalaureate or higher degree in a field other than education. Applicants for this program must provide documentation of previous work experience and participate in interviews conducted by faculty and school-based personnel. Specialist in Education (Ed.S.)

The Specialist in Education degree (Ed.S.) offered by the Department of Early Childhood Education is designed to prepare educational leaders who can make a difference in their school communities. Coursework, extensive internship experiences, and collaboration among school and university faculty combine to develop a program that supports and extends the professional growth of each candidate. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

Students in the Early Childhood Education Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program will gain a thorough knowledge of theories, research, and issues related to the field of early childhood/elementary education, assist and eventually perform the role of scholar/teacher at the university/college level, assist and eventually perform the role of a researcher in Early Childhood Education.
