COE Scholarship application due Oct. 10

The College of Education is accepting applications for the COE Scholarship through Oct. 10. 

The scholarship is awarded to three COE students each fall and spring semester: one undergraduate ($650), one master's/education specialist ($1,000) and one Ph.D. ($1,000) student.

To be eligible for the scholarship, undergraduate applicants must have the following:

  • A minimum GPA of 3.0;
  • Be a rising junior or have completed the freshman and sophomore core; 
  • Presently enrolled in the COE;
  • Completed 9 hours in the COE;
  • Be in good standing in the COE;
  • Show a pattern of department/program involvement (professional organizations, SGAE student representation on committees, etc.);
  • Show financial need;
  • Submit a letter of recommendation from a professor in his/her department.

Graduate (masters and education specialist) and Ph.D. applicants must have the following:

  • A minimum GPA of 3.5;
  • Presently enrolled in the COE;
  • Completed 9 hours in the COE;
  • Be in good standing in the COE;
  • Show a pattern of scholarship (e.g. the presentation of research at professional meetings, publications);  
  • Show a commitment to service to the University, community and profession;  
  • Show financial need;
  • Submit a letter of recommendation from a professor in his/her department.
