Bio

Dr. Lemons-Smith's professional experience includes teaching mathematics methods, and mathematics to elementary, middle, and college level students. She has served as a mathematics consultant and provided professional development workshops and courses to in-service elementary and middle school teachers in Georgia and Indiana.

Dr. Lemons-Smith teaches mathematics methods in the ECE Urban Alternative Preparation Program. Her research focuses on equity related issues in mathematics education. She is a member of the American Educational Research Association, Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators, Benjamin Banneker Association, Georgia Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
