Bio

Julie Rainer Dangel is a Professor in Early Childhood Education at Georgia State University. She has taught kindergarten and directed national child-care centers.  She has served for seven years as the university liaison at a Professional Development School in a large urban district.

Her research interests include teacher development and constructivist theories. She has published articles in a variety of journals including The Journal of Teacher Education, Teaching and Teacher Education and Action in Teacher Education and served as co-editor of the ATE Research in Teacher Education Yearbook Series (2000-2006). She is immediate past-president of the Association for Constructivist Teaching and currently chairs the ATE Research Committee and is Co-Chair of the Commission on Clinically-Based Teacher Preparation.
