Endorsement
The Department of Middle-Secondary Education and Instructional Technology of the College of Education and the Department of Applied Linguistic and English as a Second Language of the College of Arts and Sciences offer graduate courses in bilingual/English as a second language to give teachers additional training to work with non-English-speaking or limited-English-speaking students at the early childhood, middle childhood, and secondary school levels.

Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.)
The Master of Arts major in Reading, Language, and Literacy Education Alternative Preparation Program provides initial teacher preparation in ESOL for individuals holding bachelor’s degree and who have an interest in English to speakers of other languages in K-12 settings. The course of study meets the requirements for professional certification at the initial level in ESOL and the requirements for a Reading Endorsement.
