Alternative Pathways for Provisional Teachers
Individuals who are on provisional certificates or non-renewable certificates in Georgia can apply to our teacher preparation programs to obtain a full renewable certificate. These programs enable educators to complete their practicum experiences within their own teaching setting. Middle/Secondary Programs
Programs in the Department of Middle Secondary Education and Instructional Technology are offered in these areas:
- English Education
- English Speakers of Other Languages(ESOL)
- Mathematics Education
- Middle Level Education (Math/Science or Language Arts/Social Studies)
- Science Education
- Social Studies Education
Early Childhood Education
This program was developed to address the issue of dwindling numbers of competent, qualified teachers for the urban classroom.
Special Education
The Department of Educational Psychology and Special Education offers the following certifications:
- Autism
- Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Early Childhood Special Ed
- Interrelated Special Ed (EBD, LD, & MID)
- Mental Retardation
- Orthopedic Impairments
