Bachelor's Degree Programs

Undergraduate programs in the College of Education are offered through the departments of Early Childhood Education, Kinesiology and Health, and Middle-Secondary Education and Instructional Technology. The degrees available include Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Science in Education.


Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Programs

Exercise Science
This program prepares students for careers in corporate fitness, adult fitness, personal training, cardiac rehabilitation, and related fields. Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S.Ed.) Programs

Birth Through Five
The B.S.Ed. major in Birth Through Five (B-5) prepares teachers and other early care and education professionals to work in varied settings with young children and their families from infancy through Kindergarten age, including children who are typically developing and those with disabilities.For more information go to the Early Childhood Education program page.

Early Childhood Education
The Early Childhood Education program prepares teachers to work with young children in pre-kindergarten through fifth-grade classrooms. The program reflects research and best practice in the field of early childhood education and teacher education. Graduates are capable of functioning in a variety of educational settings.For more information go to the Early Childhood Education program page.

Middle Level Education
This program prepares outstanding middle childhood educators who can meet the needs of young adolescents in today’s diverse, highly technological, and changing society. Graduates have a well developed content knowledge in two fields (language arts, mathematics, reading, science, or social studies), and they are able to construct and implement interdisciplinary instruction creatively. Successful completion of this program and the appropriate GACE Content Assessment tests leads to a recommendation for licensure for grades four through eight in the two areas of concentration. Health and Physical Education
This program prepares students to teach integrated programs of health and physical education for grades Prekindergarten-12. Areas of emphasis include skill development and analysis, personal health assessment, pedagogical-disciplinary study, contemporary curriculum, instructional skills and models, and direct field experiences.
