Middle/Secondary Program: TEEMS/M.A.T. Programs

This program provides initial teacher preparation for individuals holding bachelor's degrees in English, mathematics, science, or history. Individuals who complete the program will be certified to teach grades 7-12 as well as obtained a M.A.T. degree in his or her content area:

Early Childhood Education: Urban Alternative Preparation Program

This program was developed to address the issue of dwindling numbers of competent, qualified teachers for the urban classroom.

Special Education: The Department of Educational Psychology and Special Education offers the following certifications:

  • Autism
  • Deaf and Hard of Hearing
  • Early Childhood Special Ed
  • Interrelated Special Ed (EBD, LD, & MID)
  • Mental Retardation
  • Orthopedic Impairments

Customized Pathways: Atlanta PLUS

We are seeking outstanding mid-career professionals to commit to teach in Atlanta Public Schools. Our students want you, professionals from a variety of careers, to bring your experience, knowledge and record of achievement to continue to positively impact their lives. As an Atlanta PLUS educator, you will receive comprehensive summer training and be provided with ongoing support once you've entered your classroom in the fall.
