Resources to Support Children's Literacy Growth

Links for Parents and Families

Parents and Families
No parent or relative should feel alone in their attempts to help the children in their lives develop into life-long readers. These links are just for those who want to know what they can do to support literacy at home. Many of them offer tips and advice that are surprisingly easy to do, while showing children just how much they are loved.

Community Partners
The GSU Urban Literacy Clinic couldn't accomplish its goals without the wonderful organizations that work along with us to support families and children in the Atlanta community. We owe these organizations a debt of gratitude. Their websites offer a great deal of information about the services provided and the ways in which they leave a legacy of learning in nearby neighborhoods.

Teachers
New teachers, as well as veterans of the field, might find these links incredibly helpful. Most of the organizations presented here are major supporters of national and international reading initiatives. They promote continued teacher development, professional literature, and even on-line communities as teachers struggle to serve the students in their classrooms.
