Information on Graduate Record Exam (GRE)

Georgia State requires all graduate students to have qualifying scores on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).  The College of Education requires a combined score of at least 800 for Master’s programs.  Applicants that do not have the minimum score can appeal for a waiver on this admission standard.  Note that the application deadline for Summer 2009 is February 1, 2009.  Your application must include a GRE score by that date.

GRE Testing Information
The GRE is a general test of academic knowledge for graduate study.  It is not a Health- or PE-specific content test.  Click here to learn more about the GRE.
Please note that you want information about the General test, not a content specific test.

Taking the GRE on computer
You will also learn that the GRE can be taken on computer, by appointment, at several test centers around Atlanta and across the other parts of Georgia.  When you take it this way, your test is scored immediately and sent to GSU to be filed with your application.
