Regional Education Service Agencies (RESAs)

he Regional Education Service Agency system (RESA) is comprised of 15 service units located around the state. Each RESA acts as an intermediate unit providing state and locally supported services to the member school systems in the region. Among its services, RESAs organize staff development activities, a library of resources, web support for teachers, training and technical assistance, and in some cases, direct services. To contact the RESA in your area, go to http://www.doe.k12.ga.us/support/improvement/resas.asp?u_order=ResaName

   Georgia Learning Resources System (GLRS)

GLRS is a network of 17 regional centers that provide a support system for parents, teachers and administrators. GLRS centers maintain libraries of materials, including videos and computer labs, and arrange regional workshops. GLRS also maintains a toll-free telephone number (1-800-282-7552) to provide special education information to teachers and the general public. See also http://www.glrs.org.
